In true Lehigh University fashion, I decided to celebrate my impending trip with one last outrageous party. And while it is true that I'm not leaving quite yet - actually its more like 5 weeks from now - I took the opportunity to throw the bash while I was still living in my wonderful apartment in Philadelphia. Many of my closest friends were able to attend, including some very recent additions.
I mentioned earlier that I am hoping to raise money for my company's charity organization called the
Golder Trust for Orphans. And I thought this gathering of my close friends could be a grat opportunity to rally support for the cause. Instead of asking for donations, I simply asked my friends to buy some delicious baked goods for an exorbitant price so that I could use the proceeds to be the first Golder employee to contribute to this fundraiser. I am happy to say that
I was able to raise $100 through the generosity of all who came. I especially want to thank Jess who spent her snow day baking with me. My hope is that others will be inspired to donate to this great cause!
